Life is H.A.R.D

This morning as I opened my Bible I came to Romas chapter 5. I had these verses highlighted as I do many verses in this old tattered Bible that I love. We have peace, we have joy, because of our faith. Because of what Christ has done for us, because of what all that He is in us. We all do truly have an undeserved privilege and can be confident and joyful through Christ, even if we don’t realize it right now.

No, that does not mean that we will not have H.A.R.D. times in our lives but it does mean that we do not have to go through them alone. He is always in the midst of them with us. And no, that does not always mean that our situation or circumstances will change or get easier. I would venture to say from my own experiences, that there is a high probability they will not change. But what will change is us. What will change is our hearts. What will change is our endurance. What will change is our confidence in ourselves, in our ability, in our character, in our strength.

We do not always have a choice in what happens to us in life. Yes, our daily decisions have a tremendous impact on what happens to us in life but sometimes even when we do all the right things, life still happens, and sometimes we have no control over any of it except for control over how we react, how we respond, how we process, how we will allow life to shape us and mold us. We DO have that choice. 100% we have control over whether we are going to make the choice to allow life’s circumstances to impact us negatively or if we are going to make the decision to use the circumstances in a positive way.

Yes, it will still be H.A.R.D. Yes, it will still hurt. Yes, it will still be difficult to adjust our lives to. Yes, it will still take A LOT of WORK. Yes, it will still suck.

But, what if we take the time we need to process it. To feel it, To sit with it. What if at some point, we begin to open our hearts to the Lord and talk to Him about it. What if we are just honest with Him about how we feel. What if we just talk to Him like He is sitting right beside us, because, in reality, He actually is right with us. What if we don’t worry about offending Jesus and we were completely honest with Him about how we felt about whatever is happening in our lives. What if we tell Him that it sucks and that we feel this kinda way about it. What if we tell Him how we are hurt and how we don‘t understand. What if we tell Him how others have hurt us so deeply, how we are so disappointed in that diagnosis, how we just don’t understand why He told us no about the thing we had been praying for so desperately. What if we told Him that life just isn’t fair. What if we had those completely real, completely vulnerable conversations with Him. What if we got it all out and just completely emptied our hearts to Jesus.

What if we had a real best friend conversation with Jesus.

In my experience, He is the only one that we can have real Faith in. He is the only one that completely knows us in such a deep and intimate way that He really actually does understand our hearts and understands why we feel how we do. He knows our lives, our experiences, our thoughts. He knows our hearts even better than we do.

He knows that at the core of who we are, we simply want to be loved. We simply want to be wanted. We simply want to feel seen. We simply want to feel important to someone.

He is that someone for us… for all those things, He is that someone.

Much Love ♥️

Romans 5:1-11 NLT

Faith Brings Joy

5 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace[a] with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. 7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
