The docuseries – The Shiny People: Duggar Family Secrets on Prime …. and the IBLP … Dude… THIS is how Christianity gets a bad name. This is how people get church hurt and completely run the other way.
Abuse of authority and power in the name of Christianity … is NOT okay. Shaming and blaming women for basically anything under the sun a man does to them instead of holding the responsible party accountable is NOT okay.
The older I get and the more I learn, especially over the last year… the more I feel so very naive to things going on in the world around me both on a large scale like the above and even on a smaller scale in my own circles … my eyes continue to be opened more and more over the last several months to so many things and people… the things we don’t see when we are too close to them. The realizations that take place with distance and an openness to looking at things from a different perspective… an objective perspective where you sit aside what you’ve always known as a truth and just reevaluate things for your own self, through your own eyes, to make your own decision.
I love my Jesus and my Heavenly Father more than I can even begin to describe with words … and believe me…. I am very self aware of how much of His grace and mercy I need every single day… just like we all do… but man… it ain’t cool for folks to use the Word of God in a way that is twisted to achieve their own agendas… whether it’s a large organization or the person down the street. That ain’t cool… and yes, I know ain’t isn’t correct grammar… but sometimes incorrect grammar is needed to express how much something just ain’t cool.
Jesus doesn’t have an ugly heart yall… in case any of us Christians have made you think differently… Jesus doesn’t have an ugly heart.
