What Does it Mean to be in God’s Safe Keeping?

Feeling like you don’t know what the future holds for you?

Feeling like you don’t understand why things are happening the way they are happening?

Not sure what to do next or what your next step should be?

Being in God’s safe keeping means that you do NOT have to have all the answers.

Sometimes we want something so badly.

Sometimes we want things to be so different than they are right now.

Sometimes we want what we had that is no more.

Sometimes we wish there was some way to rollback time.

Sometimes we wish we could have the opportunity to make a different choice than we made in the moment.

Sometimes we just wish things could be different than they are today.

Sometimes we wish they could be like they used to be before.

Feeling like we are in God’s safe keeping can mean many things to many different people but there is one constant that we may not see in the moment. It is security in knowing that no matter what right now looks like. No matter what tomorrow looks like. God our Father is right there with you. In the sadness. In the grief. In the misunderstanding. In the H.A.R.D. that is life – He is with us.

In the middle of that ‘thing’ that changed everything. Whatever that thing may be. When suddenly your world was different. When hearts were broken. In the midst of so many hurt feelings. When there were words spoken that pierced hearts and shattered spirits. And when there were things done that can’t be undone. He was there.

Trying to understand is not easy. Trying to heal does not alwasy come as quickly as one would hope. Sometimes we just have to sit in the brokenness and feel it for a while. Sometimes for a long while. Sometimes that is what we need to prepare ourselves for a slow mending. Sometimes we must take time to grieve the loss. Because it is just that. It is a loss. Loss comes in many different forms. Maybe not always a physical passing. But a loss of great magnitude just the same. He is there.

Sometimes we want something so badly. Sometimes we want what we had that is no more. But then we realize what that would mean. Then we realize that if we are here then maybe this is how things are supposed to be. Then we realize how we’ve grown. Then we remember where we used to be and we look at ourselves and see where we are today. Who we are today. Who are you are today. And you know, it is only because He is there.

I don’t know why things happen like they do. Sometimes I feel like the enemy is on an all out attack on anyone, everyone that he can get into his sights. I just simply refuse to think that God orchestrates some of these things that happen in our lives. I know He would not want them to occur. Not the hurt. Not the confusion. Not the misunderstandings. Not the loss. Not some of it. God just would not but He is there.

I am so very grateful that God uses these things in our lives to draw us closer to Him. I am so very thankful that He allows us to have perspective on the other side to see how low we were and we still made it. Even when we really didn’t know if we would be okay. But we are. We are okay. If you take time to truly reflect on some of the circumstances you’ve walked through. You too will realize that you could only have made it because God was there. You will look back and see bravery in yourself that could not have been born on your own.

Yes, it still hurts. Yes, sometimes it means that things are different and may never be the same. Our hearts are still back there even though we have a different view on this side of it. Things do look different in the rearview mirror than in front of us. Many times they are clearer. There is a different vantage point looking behind us. We are able to see a larger landscape and sometimes that tells a much different story than simply what is within a few inches right in front of us looking directly back. If you look close enough – you will see a different you. A you that you are proud of. A you that you love. A you that shines with the love of Christ and you know, He was there and He is there.

Sometimes we just have to keep taking the next baby step forward to see what God has for us.

Sometimes we just have to trust He is there. To trust He will always be there. To know we are in His safe keeping.

When we need a reminder from His Word:

Psalm 121:7-8 NIV

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Psalm 46:1 NIV

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

In His safe keeping.

Much Love ♥️
